Hello,

I'm Caitlin Balding.

student midwife, midwifery assistant, & DONA-trained birth doula.

THE JOURNEY

I firmly believe in the innate strength of women's bodies and am passionate about guiding and educating clients as they navigate the beautiful journey of childbearing. Witnessing families welcome new life and transition into a new season has become one of my favorite aspects of midwifery care.

As I continue to grow as a birth worker, the combination of my doula and midwifery training allows me to offer comprehensive support to families. I find immense joy in being part of the life-changing process families undergo during childbirth. This journey is not just a professional commitment for me; it's a personal calling to make a positive impact on the lives of the families I serve.

My fascination with the birthing process began at a young age, influenced by the stories of my own mother's birthing experiences. Those stories ignited a passion within me to pursue a career in midwifery and make a positive impact on maternity care.

My journey started early, at the age of 16, when I completed DONA doula training. The experience was transformative, solidifying my commitment to supporting families during the incredible journey of childbirth. In 2021, I took a step forward into my calling by applying and being accepted into Midwives College of Utah. This marked the beginning of my journey into midwifery.

MY PHILOSOPHY

I believe that birth is a natural physiological process and I strive to help facilitate a low-risk pregnancy, labor, birth, and postpartum experience to help my clients achieve the birth experience that they desire.

I aim to achieve this by offering natural and holistic counseling through pregnancy that prioritizes living a healthy and balanced lifestyle while implementing beneficial nutritional and supplemental support.

I value educating clients and I believe education and informed decision making is the backbone of midwifery. I strive to encourage clients and facilitate opportunities for clients to equip themselves with knowledge so they can walk into birth and parenthood feeling empowered and oh so capable to embrace all their body was created to accomplish.
